Research Projects
Strengthening Resilience in Civil Protection – Focus THW (ZiVis)
Funded by the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), the ADRU examines the challenges that disaster management and civil protection organisations, and the THW in particular, are facing in the context of civil protection and civil defence. The project takes an explicitly social science perspective, focusing on topics such as learning from and with Ukraine, the motivation and changing roles of THW personnel in full-time and voluntary positions, and responses to emerging hazards such as heatwaves.
