The Academy of the Disaster Research Unit (ADRU) was founded in 2016 as a spin-off of the Disaster Research Unit (DRU) at Freie Universität Berlin. We combine social science research with consulting, professional training and evaluation – for a disaster management and civil protection system that takes social realities seriously.

- We support organisations through strategy processes, exercises and their cooperation with unaffiliated volunteers.
- As a non-profit company (gGmbH), our work is independent, evidence-based and practice-oriented.
